- Well, not quite. There are a few PD progs for 1541 alignment that work
- reasonably well. I think that The Transactor published one.

- In theory you need a very precisely formatted test disk to set the
- alignment. However, the Test/Demo disk shipped with the drive will
- work, as will just about any commercially formatted disk without
- copy protection (i.e., bad blocks or a nonstandard format).

- This is the easiest fix. Some people also drilled a hole through the
- pulley and stepper motor shaft to pin the two together, which is much
- more difficult (but is also a permanent fix).
